Guidelines for Presentation Submissions

JACET First Division Committee (in charge of International Convention / JAAL in JACET)

Date: Thursday, August 27, 2026
Venue: Osaka Ibaraki Campus, Ritsumeikan University

AILA (the International Association of Applied Linguistics) was founded in 1964 as an academic association dedicated to advancing applied linguistics research and promoting scholarly exchange among researchers. As applied linguistics associations are typically organized on a one-country, one-association basis, Japan’s national association is The Japan Association for Applied Linguistics (JAAL) in JACET, which was established within JACET in 1984.

This year, the 1st JAAL in JACET Annual Conference (Summer, 2026) will be held concurrently on the second day of the 65th JACET International Convention (Osaka, 2026). In addition to presenting at the Convention, presenters will also have the opportunity to present at this Conference. We therefore invite proposals for applied linguistics research presentations (oral presentations only) in accordance with the guidelines below. Please note that the first author may be a non-member of JACET, including individuals who are not members of any affiliated or partner associations.

Also, the registration/presentation fee remains the same even if you present at and/or attend both the International Convention and this Conference. A non-peer-reviewed Proceedings volume will also be published based on presenters’ submissions, and we warmly encourage you to submit your proposal.
