Regulations of the Japanese Society for Language Sciences (JSLS) Article 1 Name The society shall be known as the Japanese Society for Language Sciences (JSLS), or Gengo Kagakkai in Japanese. Article 2 Purposes The purposes of this society shall be to stimulate research in the language sciences based on natural language data, in areas such as language acquisition, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis and sociolinguistics, and to support the development of the language sciences through exchange between researchers. Rules Regarding the Election of Officers of the Japanese Society for Language Sciences Article 1 The election of officers of this society shall be conducted according to Article 7 of the Regulations, Articles 6 & 7 of the Detailed Rules for the Operations of JSLS, as well as these rules. Specific details pertaining to the election process will be determined below. Detailed Rules Detailed Rules for the Operation of the Japanese Society for Language Sciences Article 1 Administrative office The administrative office of the society shall be at: Prof. Makiko Hirakawa Faculty of Letters, Chuo University 742-1 Higashinakano, Hachioji-shi Tokyo, 192-0393, Japan Email: hirakawa@tamacc.chuo-u.ac.jp Article 2 Annual dues 1. The annual dues shall be 6,000 yen or US$60.00 for full members, and students may receive 3,000 yen or US$30.00 discount. Dues for supporting members shall be 30,000 yen or more.
