概要：
語彙習得とは当該言語固有の複雑で精緻な語彙システムを構築することである。子供はどのようにこのプロセスの端緒を見つけ、語彙システムを構築していくのだろうか。その過程においてどのような推論をするのだろうか？またそのような推論をするためにヒトがもつ種固有の認知能力は存在するのだろうか？この講演では、記号接地から成人のもつ複雑で巨大な語彙システムを構築する過程、そこにおける推論について概観し、推論を可能にする人固有の認知能力について考察する。

今井むつみ氏について：
慶應義塾大学環境情報学部教授。Cognitive Science Society 特別名誉会員(Fellow), 運営委員 (Governing Board member, 2017- )。専門は認知科学、特に言語心理学、発達心理学、教育心理学。1994年ノースウェスタン大学心理学部Ph.D.取得。著書に『英語独習法』『ことばと思考』、『学びとは何か―〈探究人〉になるために』、『言語と身体性』（共編著）、『ことばの発達の謎を解く』、『親子で育てることば力と思考力』、『言葉をおぼえるしくみ―母語から外国語まで』（共著）、『新 人が学ぶということ―認知学習論からの視点』などがある。
